The Wanamaker building is one of Philadelphia’s most beautiful and historic. We are located in the north lobby, looking out on City Hall. Whether it’s office workers, shoppers or tourist, we offer an amazing array of tasty baked goods, hot lunches and five fresh-brewed coffees each day.
The Wanamaker Building is named for John Wanamaker, one of Philadelphia’s greatest visionaries. He opened within this building the world’s first “department store”. It also had the world’s first commercial escalator. And the pipe organ which still is played at different time throughout each day is the world’s largest operation pipe organ! And don’t miss the retro Christmas light show which is narrated by Julie Andrews.
